For those of you who didn't know, I am originally from Los Angeles, California. It's where I was born and raised and will forever be my home. I haven't been there in a while but hopefully Jay and I get to go on our road-trip next year that we've planned quite far ahead in advance :) (he's from Los Angeles too, so he gets it).
It's times like these when I feel really out of place on the East Coast. You'd think that from the amount of time I have lived here I would be acclimated to the cold winters, but I am really not. (You can read here about how much I hate the snow). I long for the days when I pull out my cashmere and cable knit sweaters when it hits the low of 55 degrees. Yes. 55.
How sad is that?! I've been in temperature about 20 degrees + less than that for the past few months. I can't even talk about it, it makes me so mad.
So, as I'm sitting here watching the weather reports like a hawk, I see that Saturday is supposed to be 49 degrees. That is what I am looking forward too.
Talk about California Dreamin'...
Anyways, I thought that I would start a new series of blog posts every once in a while to fuel my missing of the City of Angels and the Golden State in general.
My first one, I'm going to talk about one of my favorite places in the entire world. The Grove.
Now for those of you California natives, and one's who have visited L.A, back me up on this one. The Grove is amazing. You can go any time of day, any time of the year and it will be beautiful. Strung lights throughout, the sister fountain to that of the Bellagio's, the movie theatre, the trolly, the beautiful green with summer time concerts and perfect picnic spots, the rooftop cafe at Barnes & Noble, the J.Crew.
When I am in L.A the Grove is my home. I know it like the back of my hand. Ever since I was a little girl that was my favorite place to spend time at. Everyone needs a space that they feel comfortable at, a place where they can go to to get away from everything. Well this beauty is mine.
The best time to go- Sunset. It is perfect, and beautiful, and gosh I miss it. |
Aerial view of the fountains: they go to the beat of the music playing-swoon |
Oh hey there's that rooftop cafe I was talking about! |
Try and tell me this trolly isn't the cutest touch: I dare you |
